ARRANGEMENT OF THE PERSONAL COMPUTER BLOCKS. TRAY-BENCH FOR PERIPHERALS.
THE ADDED LITTLE TABLE FOR THE SYSTEM UNIT.

The present stage of development of a civilization is characterized by
escalating cost - value of a living space. Rather not easier to
enter the main attribute of this development, namely - a personal computer,
in frameworks of this tendency. The system unit, the screen monitor,
the printer, the scanner, stereo speakers, the keyboard and a mousy - all
this demands an individual approach that contradicts the requirement
of compact allocation. Does not troubleshoot and, apparently, obvious solution,
namely usage of compact portable computers, so-called notebooks. For the
majority of cases their portability appears redundant for which, nevertheless,
it is necessary to pay expensively. First of all, such compact device will
be inevitable to have the worst parametric, than the device of the normal
sizes. And it besides, that the price compact essentially above. And, at last,
association in one block of three - a system unit, the screen monitor, the
keyboard, moreover and the manipulator contradicts one of the main requirements
of construction of technical devices - to their modularity. Modularity enables
the floppy adaptation and development. All this concerns and to the
offered combined scanners - to printers, and also to screen monitors with
speakers.
In given article the scheme of rational allocation of personal computer
blocks which is saving modularity of a construction, provides maximum compactness
is represented.
First of all, it is offered to allocate the screen monitor (1) and columns
(2, 2) on somebody common "tray" (3, 3). Such solution, uniting these devices
in the uniform function box, nevertheless, saves possibility of operative
modular replacement its components.
It is offered to put this tray on high legs or on two parallel edges
(4, 4) between which to allocate the scanner (5) in the not working state.
For operation the scanner is put forward from under obtained out
"a tray - benches". The keyboard thus is removed aside (with turn on 90
degrees). Such solution answers that circumstance, what even developed enough
user of a personal computer uses the scanner seldom enough. To allocate
to it thus a separate place - it is too prodigal. Besides allocation under
the screen gives rather convenient - ergonomic unity of the
scanner, - its working field, with the image on the screen.
It is offered to allocate behind of the screen monitor the printer (6),
paper feed in which, and also its output to carry out through "window" under
the screen monitor. This "window" obtains out as a result of refusal
of usage standard - the central support of the screen monitor. Instead of
it, it is necessary to use side supports (7, 7). In the most simple
and natural sort such constructive solution is represented as follows. The
screen monitor, within the limits of technology back VESA mounts, is
suspended on a horizontal tube (8). In one's turn this tube fastens to
vertical sidewall (the same 7,7), allocated on "a tray for peripherals"
(3, 3 ...). Such mount allows to incline the screen monitor, turning it
around of an axis of a supporting tube, providing with that operative access
to the printer. As a result, we get a modular construction with necessary
operative access to all blocks, with a minimum of occupied square.
To the greatest degree for implementation of this solution the ink-jet
printers having appropriate paper feed suit. Printer HP Deskjet 3745 especially
suits. About possibility and necessary here improving it will be told below.
The second fundamental problem is allocation of a system unit. One of
the most settled solutions here - allocation on an edge under desktop in
the side bedside-table opened in front. However, here there is a headache
an access to back - the commutative side of a system unit. Or it is necessary
to provide free detour around of desktop, that basically contradicts the
requirement of compactness, or to remove desktop with all computer attributes
that represents the task of a power circus genre. The task of a similar
genre unless not so power, access to a back commutative wall atop
of desktop is. Well and, at last, classical solution - by means of
promotion of a system unit forwards - possesses number of essential disadvantages.
Wires should be long. To put them through pass to a back wall of a bedside-table,
no less than to avoid them tangling at returning a system unit to a place,
- all this task not for nervous.
It is offered to solve this problem by detachment of a system
unit (9) in a separate narrow little table - a bedside-table (10), equal
height with the main desktop. This little table can permanently settle down
near a wall of a room, and to remove it will be necessary only the main
desktop (11). Thus only it is required to shift preliminary with last considered
above "a peripheral bench", - to shift (with a turn on 90 degrees) on
the same "added" little table.
As a result the compact modular construction with convenient enough functional
access to separate units turns out.
It is necessary to note, that constructional independence of the main
desktop allows to return to it a role of dinner table, that appears
very opportunely about our constrained circumstances.
Besides a computer little table with the peripheral tray allocated on
it, itself is fine preparation for a separate workstation. It is necessary
to add only (to add as required) a small longitudinal platform, for allocation
of the keyboard, and also the put forward scanner. Here it is only necessary
to provide the constructional units preventing fall forward. In
described elaboration the screwed from below to legs of an added little
table ingots (12, 12), appearing forwards centimeters on 20 are used.
It was above noted, that is the most complete, without additional alterations,
to requirements of layout of the printer behind the screen monitor answers
HP_Deskjet_3745. Pages of a paper move from below - in front, there they
and come back. Thus the feeder is halved on two parts, a lobby from which
reclines upwards in a non-working state. That provides maximum compactness
of a construction.
However, declination upwards demands to install the screen monitor above
that the thrown back part passed under it. It is necessary also because
it is required lift the common cover which covers a thrown back part of
the feeder.
Here three solutions are possible. To turn back-upwards screen monitor
in a necessary degree. To leave a tray in the opened state (probably covering
any lid). And, at last, the most interesting would be to apply here not
leaning back front support to a paper, but put forward (sliding),
with the small end folding plate covering an input-output in the added state,
and the adding length in spread out. Such solution, only in the automated
sort is used in EPSON STYLUS PHOTO R1800. Naturally, to make it in home-made
conditions - it is rather difficult. Industrial release of printers with such
submitting device would be rather pertinent.
It is necessary to notice, that considered upgrade will not prevent to
usage of the printer outside of the considered concept of its allocation
behind the screen.
And, at last, industrial release of laser printers under this concept
would be very interesting. All the same they have appeared much more practical,
than ink-jet. Evolution of laser printers has already brought to
necessary solution. For concreteness it is possible to name HP Laser jet
P1005. Laser printers have come to the feeder allocated from below,
and output - return of pages back, - only on the top of the printer. It is
necessary to organize only a slope-slope of degrees on 45, and also
a sliding additional part of the feeder.
And again, considered upgrade will not prevent to usage of the printer
outside of the considered concept of its allocation behind the screen.
It will be necessary only, for already absolutely complete restoring,
to add an insert without an inclination, together with the folding supports
put from above.
Replacement of the ink-jet printer on laser is quite logical. However,
it would be desirable to have in the arsenal and ink-jet since meanwhile
on its basis color printing accessible to the wide user is realized. Here
it is possible to suggest to organize little balcony, above
"a tray for peripherals" or above a computer little table. And on the upper
platform of this balcony to allocate the color ink-jet printer. Solution
certainly bulky, at first sight, but nevertheless ... Here it is to necessary
to use creative design.
The considered mount of a carrying tube in any sides is caused with its
availability in handicraft conditions. With the greater technical possibilities
it is possible to prolong the ends of this tube, to bend them back-downwards,
and then forwards, and by that to get more elegant construction of support
of the screen monitor. Though if to prolong sidewall upwards it will be possible
to put on them forepart on which it will be possible to allocate the color
ink-jet printer. It is obtained not a bench, but whatnot...
As the main desktop the sliding desktop with the regulated height of
production of GDR (the German Democratic Republic) was used.
As an added computer little table the central curbstone of kitchen folding
desktop of production of the USSR was used. In the last case it is important,
that the used part of desktop has frame appearance which provides additional
(side) possibilities of access to a system unit.
In a non-working state the keyboard is put vertically to a peripheral
tray.
