"MAN THE AIRCRAFT". Configuration
of the individual flight vehicle.

The basic idea.
A pilot is placed horizontally, with
face forward-downward. Figuratively speaking, the pilot lays on a carrying
plane. Propellers (with engines) are removed ahead - over on the pylon-underframes
forming a common structure with the fuselage nose (fig. 1). The pilot "gets
on" his back a "motor knapsak".
Such configuration gives to pilot the
wide, straight, direct, forward view of the earth surface which is the basic
source of the information. Such configuration increases sensory acuity
of flight.
Removal of propellers forward, direct
connection of pylon-underframes to the fuselage nose creates a space-saving
concentrated design which is capable to protect the pilot in emergencies.
Possible versions of the design.
1. To dispose engines on wings, near
the fuselage. To transmit the rotation through a system of cardan shafts.
2. The design by the biplane scheme
would be rather pertinent here. The upper wing, straight, smaller in the
sizes than lower, could make a part of the supporting structure for engines
and propellers.
3. Instead of pylon more low-cost girder
structure is possible.
4. Within the framework of the given
configuration, return to the initial - classical - sitting position of the
pilot is possible.
